Hello there!

Stremio is the latest and greatest media center that allows users to watch movies, TV shows, and even YouTube videos instantaneously. It also supports DLNA and many other features.

Here are the download links and a quick installation guide, depending on the operating system of your choice.

[Windows]

Pretty easy and straightforward. Go ahead to this link down here:

https://www.stremio.com/downloads

Choose the windows platform and click on the button for download (Stremio 4.4 – Beta). Don’t worry for the “beta”, it work with no problems whatsoever!

Once downloaded, run the installer as usual and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the installation. After that you will be able to find the application in the desktop or with a quick windows search. It is recommended to create an account (don’t worry, they don’t spam you) with a facebook/google account or any e-mail you wish.

[MacOS]

Also, pretty straightforward. You will have to navigate to the same link as above (https://www.stremio.com/downloads – here it is again). Scroll through the page, until you find the right package for your macOS, download the .pkg file, double-click it, follow the on-screen instructions (you may have to move it to your applications folder) and you’re good to go!

[Linux – Debian / Ubuntu]

This is where things get a bit more interesting (as always). Below you will find the installation scenario for Ubuntu users (tested on 21.04).

First, open you terminal (Alt+Shift+T for the mouse haters), and type the below commands in the order that are shown

cd ~/Downloads

(1) This just changes the directory to your Download folders, using the cd command.

wget https://dl.strem.io/shell-linux/v4.4.137/stremio_4.4.137-1_amd64.deb

(2) This downloads the installer to your Download folder, using the wget command.

wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/x/x264/libx264-152_0.152.2854+gite9a5903-2_amd64.deb

(3) This downloads the required dependencies to install the Stremio app.

sudo dpkg -i libx264-152_0.152.2854+gite9a5903-2_amd64.deb

(4) This installs the dependencies we downloaded before. You should be prompted to enter “Y” for the installation to start running.

sudo dpkg -i stremio_4.4.137-1_amd64.deb

(5) This installs the Stremio app to your device.

All done. After that you can find Stremio in Your Applications and you run it from there or directly from the terminal, simply by typing “stremio”.

Final Step – Installing Addons for Stremio [for all the above]

The process of installing Addons is very simple and easy. All you need to do is click on the addons button which is located at the right side of the Search Button (puzzle icon). Install the top 2 Stremio Addons (Torrentio and ThePirateBay+). After the installation of these addons, you will be to watch your desired Movies and TV Shows. Simply search for them and choose a file to download and/or stream to your screen for the available choices.

That’s it. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show(s)!
